Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 168 new COVID-19 infections in the country.
NCDC via its Twitter on Tuesday stated “On the 24th of November 2020, 168 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria.
“The 168 new cases are reported from 10 states- FCT (61), Lagos (50), Kaduna (27), Oyo (12), Rivers (6), Katsina (5), Ogun (3),Kwara (2), Edo (1), Kano (1).”
On the caseloads of the pandemic, the health agency noted “Till date, 66,607 cases have been confirmed, 62,311 cases have been discharged and 1,169 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” it added.
Meanwhile, NCDC has explained “Antimicrobials which consist of antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals & antiparasitics are medicines used to prevent & treat infections in humans, animals & plants.
“Misuse & overuse of #Antimicrobials can reduce their effectiveness.#BeAntibioticsAware#NAAW2020,” it warned.
