Nigeria, Saturday, recorded 1,588 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths in 24 hours, declared Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
Of the confirmed cases reported from 19 states including Federal Capital Territory, Lagos is leading with 535 followed by Anambra (218), Oyo (155), FCT (150), and Kano (124).
Others are ”Gombe (60), Kaduna (49), Ebonyi (48), Plateau (46), Akwa Ibom (39), Niger (37), Edo (33), Katsina (23), Rivers (18), Taraba (15), Nasarawa (14), Ogun (11), Delta (9), Ekiti (2), and Jigawa (2).’’
NCDC tweeted on Saturday, February 6, 2021 ”Till date, 139242 cases have been confirmed, 112557 cases have been discharged and 1647 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
”A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.’’
It added ”Our discharges today include 498 community recoveries in Lagos State, 64 in Kano State and 54 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.’’
