The former Nigerian beauty queen, Regina Askia-Williams on Thursday called on people and her friends to cultivate the attitude of gratitude.

Adorned in a velvet green gown, the ex-beauty queen survived the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, escaping from the building, where she worked at the time, only three months after relocating to New York City with her family.

Regina who turns 54 Thursday said ”For both the trials and joys, and all the moments that have indeed taken my breath away… Let gratitude change your attitude.’’

The mother of three wooed her fans with dazzling photos of herself and shared the photos on Instagram with a goodwill message to herself.

“My “Thankful Thursday” birthday is here and I’m grateful. For both the trials and the joys, and all the moments that have indeed taken my breath away. It’s been a long, long road to this day and in all things, we give thanks. Let gratitude change your attitude. That, my friends is the key. Happy birthday to me! Much love from the Lady of the Manor, Chateau Regin,”  the Nollywood actress wrote.

Fellow celebrities like Segun Arinze, Betty Irabor, Daddy Showkey, Mercy Macjoe and Gbenro Ajibade wished the celebrant a happy birthday in the comment section of the post.

On her 53rd birthday, the former movie star who relocated to the United States of America (USA) shared some photos on social media, flashing her cleavage.

Askia-Williams in January 2021 announced her comeback into the movie scene with the movie “WEB”.

In the film, she acted as Olivia, the wife to Desmond, played by Ramsey Nouah.

Apart from acting, the screen goddess is also a writer and public speaker.

Askia-Williams’s acting break came in 1993 when she played gold-digger Tokunbo Johnson in Nigerian soap ‘Fortunes’ (later Mega Fortunes) on NTA Network, a role which earned her critical acclaim and roles in Nollywood movies.

She has received several awards for her performances – including one for “Best Actress in Nigeria” by Afro Hollywood London in 2000.

She has also produced several television shows and films.

Askia-Williams starred in several “Nollywood” films during the 1990s and early 2000s, most of which were filmed to be released directly to video.

During her acting career, she reached a wide audience in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa such as Tanzania and Ghana.

She soon became one of Nigeria’s biggest acting celebrities.

The actress has starred in several hit movies like Most Wanted, Full Moon, Chase, Festival of Fire, Highway to the Grave, The President’s Daughter, and Juliet Must Die, among others.
