Delta State Government has quashed the sit-at-home order allegedly imposed by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the State.

This comes as some IPOB adherents attempted to enforce the sit-at-home order at Asaba, the state capital on Monday, May 16.

A statement signed by the secretary to the state government, Mr. Patrick Ukah on May 16, 2022, assured of the security of lives and properties of residents.

The state government, however, directed security agencies to deal with anyone caught trying to enforce the sit-at-home order in Asaba.

Recall that the panic led to the closure of schools in Okwe, Bonsaac, Oko, Akwuebulu Oduke and Osadenis in the Asaba metropolis considered as the base of the secessionist elements.

It was gathered that the popular Ogbogonogo Market did not open for business until about noon but owners were seen around but did not open for business.
