    Alleged forgery case: Umo Eno Parades 17, Akan Okon, six lawyers

    As the legal battle between Pastor Umo Eno and Akan Okon resumed at the Federal High Court, Uyo on Monday, September 12, the court that began sitting at 9.35 a.m. saw a team of six lawyers for the plaintiff and 17 for the defendant.

    Okon, the Akwa Ibom Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant has sued Eno, the State PDP Governorship candidate who is the defendant over his alleged forgery of certificates.

    In a suit no. FHC/UY/CS/110/2022 and dated June 7, 2022, the plaintiff joined PDP, Eno and Independent National Electoral Commission as defendants.

    He alleged that Eno presented to the PDP governorship screening committee which sat in Port Harcourt “forged West African School Certificates said to have been issued to him in 1981 and 1983 respectively. He also presented forged voter’s card as well as altered his date of birth.”

    Okon’s lawyers were Okey Amaechi, SAN, Uche Awa SAN, A A Asuquo Esq, AC Okoroafor Esq, Chinedu Awa Esq and Victor Kingsley Esq for plaintiff (Akan Okon)

    Eno’s lawyers included Paul Usoro, SAN, Chief Offiong Offiong SAN, Nnamonso, Ekanem SAN, Essien Udom SAN, Oyetola Atoyebi SAN and Uwemedimo Nwoko, SAN.

    Others were Godwill Umoh Esq, Emmanuel Enoidem Esq, Samuel Akpabio Esq, Utibe Nwoko Esq, Ekaobong Thomas Esq, Harrison Okoro Esq, Ema Assam Esq, Uboho Eyo, Etimbuk Udofia, Felix Orok and Ibrahim Wale for 1st and 2nd defendants (PDP and Pastor Umo Eno).

    Eze Emmanuel, Esq represented for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

    The court presided over by Justice Agatha Okeke shifted the battle to Tuesday, September 13 for more legal fireworks.
