Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reminded the people of a golden era, assuring of integrating competent hands to add value to his administration.
Eno stated this during the swearing in of new Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo on Wednesday.
Uwah, who is the 16th SSG in the state, took over from Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem who served during the era of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the immediate past Akwa Ibom governor.
Governor Eno described Uwah’s appointment as a product of merit, reward of hard work and contributions made towards the growth and development of the state and congratulated him on his appointment
He charged the new Secretary to the State Government, to deploy his wealth of experience and bring to bear innovations that will enhance the smooth running of government not hindered by bureaucracy.
The Chief Executive further noted that the blueprint of his administration which is predicated on the ARISE agenda will soon unveil for a public discourse and contributions that will reflect all aspects of development in the state.
Governor Eno who reminded the people of a golden era assured of integrating competent hands that will add value in his administration, calling for support to build the state.
“I made it very clear that we will reward hard work, and this first appointment is our resolve to keep to our words. Let me on behalf of the people of Akwa Ibom State congratulate you the SSG most heartily on your appointment and subsequent swearing in as the secretary to the state government. Your appointment is a product of merit, of hard work, of fidelity and faith in the continuous growth and development of our state.
“As engine room of government, you are expected to deploy your organisational and people’s skills in managing our vast bureaucracy which is undergoing e-governance processes. I am confident of the choice we have made in you, go there, get the job done for our state and for our people and after you get the job done we will have the happy hour,” the governor assured.
Until his appointment, Uwah was the Executive Chairman of Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA).
He had served the state meritoriously in several capacities including Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources; Commissioner, Housing and Urban Renewal; Secretary-General of the Divine Mandate, 2019; Secretary General, Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), and Secretary-General, Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Organisation.
Uwah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Cross River State, and a Master’s in Public Administration, also from the University of Uyo.
He is a consummate public servant with deep administrative and organizational proficiencies.
