After two months in the office, Governor Umo Bassey Eno has returned the 22 Commissioners, who served the immediate past governor of the state, Udom Emmanuel Governor, to his cabinet.
Eno who had professed last month to go with people who worked with him in the trenches has disappointed many lobbyists who ‘‘wanted to crash is telephone with several calls for appointments and wanted to distract him from working.’’
However, Eno has infused his cabinet with Special Adviser nominee.
The letter dated 19th July, 2023, addressed to the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong had only one new name from the last cabinet of Emmanuel as an addition. The new person listed was Gen. Koko Essien, rtd.
The letter from the governor as read at on the floor of the house during Thursday 20, 2023 plenary stated thus “In line with section 192 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I forward the under listed names of nominees for appointment to the office of the Commissioners and Special Adviser for confirmation by the State House of Assembly”.

Meanwhile, the plenary has referred the Commissioners and Special Adviser Nominees of Governor Eno to the Akwa Ibom House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Pubic Petitions for further legislative action.
Recall that Monday Uko is the longest serving Commissioner having served ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio for two years before served Udom eight years.
Mr. Nsikan Linus Nkan, Mr. Charles Udoh, Hon. Orman Esin, and Rt. Hon. (Chief) Uno Etim Uno served Udom for eight years.
Hon. Frank Archibong, Prof. Augustine Vincent Umoh, Uko Essien Udom, SAN, Comrade Ini Ememobong, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Mrs. Idongesit Iboro Etiebiet, Dr. Imo Moffat and Enobong Udemeabasi Mbobo (Mrs) served four years.
The rest served less than two years.
