As youths from Ikorodu, Delta, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun and Oyo pounded streets in protest against the untimely demise of popular Afrobeat Star, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba), also known as MohBad, others are seeking justice for the singer.
The 27-year-old, a former artiste under Marlian Music, passed away in controversial circumstances on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 but was buried Wednesday, September 13.
From Ekiti State on Tuesday, the youths took to the streets of Ado Ekiti, the state capital for a candle procession in honor of the singer.

Cladded in black attires and clutching lighted candles, the youths in long procession moved from Adebayo area, Ekiti State University road to the Fajuyi Park where youths from other parts of the state capital joined them to bid the late musicians farewell.
The development also caused traffic jam under the fajuyi bridge as motorists were struggling for ways to drive through.
To maintain peace during the procession, security operatives comprising police, RRS officers, Army, Civil Defence among others were on ground to ensure security and safety of the protesters.
Residents of Ibadan, Oyo State capital, trooped en mass to stage to demand justice for late singer.
The protesters carried various placards with inscriptions such as ‘‘Justice for Mohbad,” and ‘‘Ibadan loves Mohbad.”
The speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, also joined in the protest.
In Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun state, the youths stormed the streets to demand justice for the death of Mohbad.
The youths gathered in their numbers at the Skating Ground Arena, wearing blacks and carrying placards with inscriptions such as #JusticeForMohbad, #Who off Light among others.
Obi, Sanwo-Olu demand justice
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 2023 election, has commiserated with the family and fans of the late singer.
Expressing his condolences to the deceased’s family, Obi via his official X handle bemoaned the grief parents have to endure upon the loss of a child. He urged the government and the security agencies to probe the circumstances that led to Mohbad’s untimely demise and to leave no stone unturned.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has directed the state Police Command, to in collaboration with the Department of State Service, launch a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the untimely passing of the music sensation, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as MohBad.
This directive from Governor Sanwo-Olu was officially communicated on Tuesday through a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
In the statement, the Governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, friends, devoted fans, and the community at large.
“The Government commiserates with his family and fans. We feel the pains of losing such a talented and promising young man, who made a name for himself in a highly competitive industry.
“May The Almighty grant his soul rest and comfort his bereaved family and fans.
“Following, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive, the Police in Lagos State have launched a major investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young star.
“A 19-man police panel has been asked to unravel the mystery of the musician’s death.
“Further to this and to boost the investigation, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and use of best in class technology to unearth the truth.
“Mr. Sanwo-Olu has directed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.
“Consequently, Department of State Services (DSS) has also joined the investigation so as to get justice for the youngster, his family and teeming fans.
“The Government pleads with all those who may have vital information that may assist the investigation process to avail the investigating team with such.
“Government also appeals to the investigating team to guarantee the confidentiality and protection of all witnesses who may come forward with vital information or indicative evidence that may assist the process.
“The government appeals to all friends and fans of the deceased to stay calm and refrain from making inflammatory utterances and reaching prejudicial conclusions on this matter.
“Staying calm and following the process keenly will be our most solemn tribute to the memory of the departed talent.
“Besides, the grieving family should be allowed to mourn their loss in peace. It is, indeed, a difficult time for us all – the government, the family and MohBad’s fans. Any action that can aggravate the grief should be avoided.
“The Police and the DSS have been admonished to brief the public on their efforts periodically.”

Singer Dammy Krane has called out Naira Marley over the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
Quoting a line from one of Naira Marley’s songs, Dammy Krane described him as a heartless demon signing songs that inspire killings.
He tweeted; “Nigga already said his plans when he sang “put your main man in a box Violence” HEARTLESS demons singing songs that inspire killings , that demonic foreign gangster mentality can’t be brought into our culture , African music is about Love & Light #JusticeForMohbad.”
