The Rivers State police Thursday detained and drilled the alleged murderer of a 300-level Biochemistry student of the University of Port Harcourt, one Justina Otuene.

Parading the suspect before journalists Thursday, October 26, the state Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, said on Wednesday, October 25, at about 3.30 p.m, operatives of Ozuoba Division received a complaint from a good Samaritan and neighbor, name withheld, of Road 20, back of NTA Ozuoba that he went to his house where one Demain Okoligwe ‘m’ a fellow tenant resides and perceived a very bad odour and immediately rushed to the police station, where the DPO led detectives to the scene.

”On arrival, the door was forcefully opened, and a Ghana must-go bag containing a lifeless body was recovered back to the station.”

The police boss said the fleeing suspect and boyfriend of the deceased, Demain Okoligwe ‘m’ 24yrs old, a Petrochemical Engineering 400-level student of UNIPORT was arrested.

CP Emeka said the lifeless and butchered body of Justina Otuene, 20, a Biochemistry 300-level student at UNIPORT, was recovered and deposited at the mortuary.

He said preliminary investigation is in progress and that the case has been transferred to SCID for discreet investigation.

The Police Commissioner, therefore, condoled with the family of the deceased victim, urging young girls to be cautious and careful about any person they involve themselves with in any form of relationship.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user who knew the deceased wrote ‘’So I woke up this morning by 2am , couldn’t sleep only for me to go online to see this sad news of Otuene Justina Nkang we all schooled in assi.(Anglican secondary school isiokpo) a boarding house.
