    Press Release

Four lucky holders of Doctorate of Philosophy (PH.Ds)from Akwa Ibom have gotten employment into a leading Federal Government-owned institution.

Two others equally got employment into the institution (name withheld), courtesy of the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The beneficiaries are Augustus Precious Sunday, Ph.D; Effiong Effiong Ebieme, Ph.D; Owoidihe Monday Etukudo, Ph.D; Etimbuk Ebong Idiong, Ph.D; Udom, Robinson Nsidibe and Nelson, Mkpoikanke Michael.

This is in fulfilment of Idem’s promise to facilitate the employment of 1,000 Akwa Ibom youths into strategic Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The job target alongside his sponsorship of overseas training for 100 Akwa Ibom people instituted in 2024.

Presenting letters of employment to the six Akwa Ibom persons, Idem congratulated them on their new job, and charged them to be good ambassadors of Akwa Ibom state as well as exhibit the virtues of passion, commitment, sincerity and other qualities as may be required of them.

Represented by the Chairman, Governing Council of Sure Foundation College of Nurses Sciences, Deacon Ndianabasi Udom, he urged them to put God first in all they do, using myself as an example of one who’s been a product of God’s grace.

‘‘It is my firm belief that in the next 10 to 15 years, we will have Akwa Ibomites as directors, Permanent Secretaries, and others in top management positions in the federal government. This way, we’ll be able to attract federal presence, such as projects, and programmes to Akwa Ibom state and lessen the burden on the state government.

‘‘We will also be able to close the quota gap where only few Akwa Ibomites are in managerial positions in federal MDAs,’’ the Ukanafun-born Lawmaker said.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Chairman of House Committee on Public Procurement who facilitated the new jobs for them, and pledged to make him and the state proud by their lifestyle and performance in their new place of work.
