The feud between two Facebook content creators – Mrs Jennifer Inyang popularly known as Mmatangsio and Ms. Bright Effiong known in the Facebook as Brightnation- from Akwa Ibom may end in a court of law in event both parties fail to reach a truce over what analysts see as ‘‘irreconcilable issues.’’

BRIGHTNATION with over 4,500 viewers produced and aired a viral video criticising Messrs Mmatangsio Relaxation Bush Meat Bar Services of Plot 10 Ediene Ikot Obio Imoh off Pepsi Junction, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, an act seen as ‘‘demarketing’’ and ‘‘damaging.’’

According to Brightnatioin, “I think I don sleep wake up now, I feel my mind is okay for me to talk…let’s talk about Mmatangsio. I have been seeing her videos on Facebook, so I wanted to go to her place yesterday and have/enjoy my val…but bro, I went to that place, my shock was shock! First of all…

‘‘…when I begin the ask of price of meat, I come spot flies everywhere and the price was crazy. Imagine this meat here is about thirty something or fifty something k, you see those people there, na price make them go…”

‘‘…the price of meat, bush meat, no be meat wey be say them train am by themselves…bush meat where God give….half ebiong…isin ebiong, ado like twenty something thousand naira, other unam…nsekid unam fifty something naira adoho iyohoke 2 pound weight…ami mmo okay, maybe this place is a mistake, ami nke check signboard ayedo itie ammo…you people should take it easy oooi know that all of us, we want to make money, when you make it to be so obvious… This woman you need to calm down…. how much is a kilo of turkey.”

In a letter by Lex Associates under the title: DEMAND FOR IMMEDIATE RETRACTION AND PUBLIC APOLOGY FOR DEFAMATORY PUBLICATION AGAINST MESSRS MMATANGSIO RELAXATION BUSH MEAT BAR SERVICES, the law Chambers has written to Brightnation to retract the video.

The letter signed by Anietie Akpan, Esq for six other lawyers and dated 18 February 2026, directed ‘‘NOTICE: If you fail to comply within the stipulated 48 Hrs, we shall, without further notice., proceed to institute appropriate legal proceedings to enforce our clients’ rights and seek full redress under the law.’’

According to the letter, ‘‘A fair and objective analysis of the content of your publication, depicts the following innuendoes and more:

    1. That our client is an extortionist, a profiteer who desire to make underserving gains by overcharging her customers, that she is fun of price-gouging;
    2. That our client’s business is operated in a dirty and germ-infested environment which is not worth a patronage as it is a health-risk to so do.’’

The letter reads, ‘‘Whereas our client has consistently and diligently built her brand ever since it was registered in 2025 with the Corporate Affairs Commission and has earned a wide range of patronages by virtue of her hygiene-conscious operations which are certified by relevant government agencies, delectable and scrumptious deliveries through her exceptional recipes while paying keen attention to customer’s satisfaction and health; your publication is therefore false in every material particular and its subsequent circulation on social media had caused OUR CLIENT grave reputational injury and loss of business goodwill and undermined public confidence in our client’s ethical business practice.

‘‘Our client finds the assertions deeply offensive, derogatory, defamatory and malicious since as your only intent is to incite the general public to withdraw their patronages from our client which malevolent intent is already succeeding as our client is experiencing an abysmally low patronage ever since your false publications.

‘‘From the foregoing, the utterances exceeded the limits of frees speech guaranteed under the Nigerian Constitution which does not include spreading of falsehood, It is our firm DEMAND that a Retraction of your allegation and Public Apology be made within the next 48Hrs of Receipt of this Letter, The Apology shall be published in not less than One National and Two Local Dailies namely; The Punch, The Pioneer and The Sensor Newspapers as well as on Facebook and Instagram, and the Sum of Twenty Million Naira as Compensation be made through our Law Firm.’’

Though Ms. Effiong is bickering with Christopher Inyang, husband to Mmatangsio on Facebook over what she calls ‘‘body shaming, slut shaming…’’ and has come out with a 10th part video, it is speculated that Brightnation has brought down the ‘’demarketing but damaging’’ video.

It is alleged that she accompanied a male ‘‘friend’’ to the business premises of Mmatangsio to capture in a video the business ambience.

Jennifer Inyang on her Facebook page wrote ‘‘Greetings my amiable Facebook Family.

She said ‘‘I believe you all have seen the video Trending online about the lady that came to My shop to make a video, just to destroy My business.

‘‘I know y’a’ll were Waiting to see the video i’ll make concerning that, but it weakens me…

And I have decided to take it to the Next level…’’

‘However, she warned others ‘‘And I also want to sound this as a warning to every other person out there, we may play, but when it comes to bring down syndrome, you will never see me do such.

‘‘This letter has been delivered successfully to the lady.

‘‘And we are moving straight to the court.

‘‘Thanks to all the people that kicked against her actions on My behalf, indeed, you guys did well.’’
