A Nigerian clergyman, Bishop Osaji Patrick, the founder of Goshen Christian Assembly, Obosi in Anambra State, has predicted that Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will withdraw the presidential candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi before the 2027 general elections over what the party calls lack of confidence in him.
Obi joined NDC led by Senator Seriake Dickson on May 3, 2026 after he had defected from African Democratic Congress (ADC) to be chosen as the party’s Presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Later, Obi was adopted as the NDC presidential candidate following a motion by Senator Victor Umeh representing Anambra Central and ably seconded by former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

Speaking in social media, Bishop Patrick noted ‘‘I am not a politician. I don’t call and I don’t visit politicians. I spoke like that about Dr. Chris Ngige, then Governor of Anambra State in 2003 and after few months, he was removed from office.’’
Trying to buttress his earlier predictions, he affirmed that ‘‘Peter Obi was brought in as the governor. Then another election came and they brought another man for PDP. I declared PDP, your power to produce a governor in this state is nullified as far as I am still in this state. From that time till tomorrow, PDP is dead in Anambra state.
‘‘I told the man they brought in as a governor that you would be sworn, but if you would not last 30 days as a governor in the office. I will close down this church and throw away my Bible then look for a job somewhere. The late Rev. Uwah, my spiritual father, tapped me at the back and said ‘you don’t know this man and his capacity. I told him you don’t the Man who called me and His capacity. After the election, the man was sworn in, but 16 days, he was removed from office and another man was brought in.’’
The man of God who cited other instances of fulfilled predictions noted ‘‘If you know Peter Obi, tell him that he should watch and his back and build a legal turf. I see his candidature withdrawn between November ending and first week of December 2026. It was high conspiracy that NDC will declare that they don’t have confidence in him and will withdraw his candidature. Only God will save him.
‘‘They will cancel his candidature. Court will be his only option. While he will be on court process, general election will hold.
‘‘The only one remaining is the division of Nigeria,’’ he added.
Dangerous signals
Recently, the founder of the NDC, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, raised some issues within the newly registered party that left tongues quivering.
On a live television programme, Dickson accused party faithful of paying allegiance to the presidential candidate rather than the party and its leadership.
“If you think it is easy to form a political party, go and form one,” Dickson, who represents Bayelsa West senatorial district in the Nigerian senate, said during the television interview.
