Suspected Fulani herdsmen, Sunday, raped, inserted stones and stick in the private part of a pregnant woman and brought out an unborn child in Yogbo town, Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
The incident happened as the woman was relaxing with her husband in their compound but the man escaped when the herdsmen started shooting.
The heartless herders used sticks to pierce through her private part to kill the unborn child, DAILY POST gathered.
They pulled out both the child and the woman’s womb leaving her at the mercy of death.
Upon her husband’s report, soldiers came to pick her corpse but discovered that she was still alive.
She was rushed to Bishop Murray Hospital for treatment.
It was learnt that Mrs. Magdalyne Dura, the Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom, on Development Cooperation, SDGs/ NEPAD; a cleric, Rev. Fr. Mbachie and Mrs. Josephine Haba visited the maternity ward of St. Theresa’s Hospital Makurdi where the victim is currently receiving treatment.
They were in the hospital to represent a Faith-Based Organisation which settled bills for the treatment of the woman.
However, ASP Moses Yamu, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, said he was not aware of the incident.
