Five police officers and the wife of an officer have been killed in a fresh attack on a police facility in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to reports, the gunmen suspected attacked the police station in the early hours of Saturday May 8, when the officers were still asleep and shot them dead. They then set the place on fire. Police operational vehicles and other valuables were destroyed during the attack
Confirming the incident, Odiko MacDon, the spokesperson of the state police command, “Yes, there was an attack in Ini Divisional Police Headquarters.
MacDon, a Police Superintendent, ”We are trying to assess the situation, we will get back to you”
