    A’Ibom Commissioner of Police, New AIG Zone 6, Calabar Resume Duty

    A new Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police posted to the state has resumed duty

    Mr. John Bassey Abang takes over from Mr. Samuel O. Adeyemi, mni, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

    This was contained in a statement signed by DSP MacDonald Odiko, the state Police Public Relation Officer, and made available to our correspondent on Friday.

    Abang, the new Police Commissioner, is a graduate of International Studies from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

    He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on March 15, 1988.

    Before coming to Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Abang was a Commissioner of Police at the Force Headquarters upon his return from the National Defence, College.

    Married with children, Abang is the 24th commissioner of police to be sent to the state.

    Meanwhile, a new Assistant Inspector-General of Police has been appointed for the zone 6 Police Command, Calabar.

    He is AIG Samuel Ogunjemilusi Adeyemi, the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State.
