A radio On-Air-Personality (OAP) with Planet 101.1 FM died Friday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

Cleo Tao, who was the Head of Programmes at the private radio station, died at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, UUTH, Uyo after a brief sickness.

Confirming the sad news, Tony Afia, Chief Executive Officer of Planet FM, on Friday evening on-air: said, “Cleo Tao just got sick last week and was taken to the emergency intensive care unit at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. She died today.”

It is suspected that Ms. Tao may have died of a respiratory ailment, owing to her Facebook post two days earlier.

“Sorry guys, I had a respiratory challenge. I’m responding to treatment. I’ll be out soon. Thanks for your kind prayers,” Cleo wrote on her Facebook page.

Colleagues in the office described her as energetic, lively and very passionate about her job.
