Akwa Ibom Governor’s wife, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, paid an early morning visit to a healthcare facility and showered New Year baby with cash and gifts.

The baby boy delivered at 12.01a.m. January 1, 2022 at the General Hospital, Etinan Local Government Area, to the family of Mr. Godwin Evans from Afaha Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, weighed 3.3kg on delivery.

Dr. Emmanuel who is also the founder of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), in her motherly disposition cuddled the New Year baby and offered prayers for God’s protection on him.

She expressed confidence that the baby boy would usher in glad tidings for the family and the state in general.

As an advocate of Godly parenting, she encouraged the parents of the baby to train him in the way of the Lord by infusing sound Christian ethos so when he grows up, he will not depart from it.

The First Lady also interacted with other nursing mothers in the maternity ward where she gave out special baby packs and cash to their babies.  She welcomed their babies to the world and wished them a happy new year.

As a compassionate mother of the state, she showed special love and interest to some nursing mothers in the maternity ward by offsetting their medical bills.

In her appreciation, the elated mother of the New Year baby, Mrs. Godwin on behalf of other nursing mothers, thanked the governor’s wife for her benevolence and prayed God to bless her and her husband.

Similarly, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. David Udom in his remarks, commended the governor’s wife for the New Year visit and donations to the nursing mothers and asked God to reward her bountifully.

Other nursing mothers who benefitted from Her Excellency’s largesse, also registered their thanksgiving to the governor’s wife for her timely and substantial visit this first day of the year.
