    Akwa Ibom NNPP Governorship candidate, Running mate lose LGAs

    The Akwa Ibom New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) governorship candidate, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe has lost to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uyo Local Government Area.

    While PDP won in governorship race after polling 25,149 votes, NNPP lost after scoring 3229 votes in Uyo.

    In addition, the NNPP deputy governorship candidate, Mr. Godwin Afangideh lost in Essien Udim Local Government Area to PDP.

    PDP won after garnering 13,754 votes, while  NNPP lost after polling paltry 916 votes in the governorship race in Essien Udim.

    Both NNPP candidates were said to have lost their polling units to Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Akwa Ibom PDP Governor-elect who won his Ikot Ekpene Udo unit in Nsit Ubium during the Saturday’s election.

    Akpanudoedehe, the former National Secretary of All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee, lost Afaha Offot, Ward 6, Unit 10 to PDP propelled by the pioneer Senior Assistant to Akwa Ibom Governor on Entertainment, David Sergeant also known as Utang Akwa Ibom.

    The result published on the Facebook page of Utang Akwa Ibom shows:

    APC – 20

    YPP – 62

    PDP – 119

    House of Assembly

    LP – 27

    APC – 17

    YPP – 55

    PDP- 125

    Recall that Akpanudoedehe lost his unit to the Labour party during the February 25 presidential election.

    Mr Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party, polled 125 votes to defeat other candidates at polling unit of the 2011 Action Congress governorship candidate in Uyo LGA of the state.

    Afangide equally lost his unit in Essien Udim to the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

    Akan Udofia loses too

    Meanwhile, Akan Udofia of APC has lost Nsit Ibom Local Government Area with 11 Registration Areas, his home town, to PDP.

    Udofia, the Akwa Ibom APC Governorship candidate, scored 7921 votes while PDP garnered 11560 votes to carry the day.
    He came a distant third in the highly competitive race, thus disappointing some political bookmakers who had tipped him for the governorship crown.
