    Akwa Ibom, Other States Earned N2.3Trn From FAAC In 2020, NBS

    The 33-year-old Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria was the second highest collector of monthly allocations from Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) in 2020.

    Data obtained by Straightnews from National Bureau of Statistics/Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation show Akwa Ibom collected N146,265,871,270.09 billion while Delta State received the highest allocation of N186,828,313,891.51 billion in the country.

    In January, Akwa Ibom got N15,112,298,251.03; in February, N12,966,616,420.55; in March, N12,530,035,039.69; in April, N15,958,620,851.32; in May, N11,222,671,346.33; and in June, N11,365,257,230.05.

    The state also collected N9,882,221,183.07 in July; N13,273,121,093.86 in August; N10,334,320,966.27 in September; N12,316,725,455.12 in October; N10,824,121,621.90 in November; and N10,479,861,810.89 in December.

    In addition, Akwa Ibom collected N90 billion as 13 per cent Derivation Principle from FAAC last year.

    FAAC disbursed N2.49 trillion to the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2020 while states received a total of N2.30 trillion within the period under review.

    The months with the highest Net Allocation were January and August with 243.45 billion and 232.34 billion respectively.

    ”Osun and Cross River States received the least allocation of N30,627,107,890.14 billion and N N32,892,824,373.96 billion,’’ according to FAAC.

    Abia State collected N48,369,064,079.91; Adamawa, N47,943,888,872.22; Anambra, N50,916,565,330.78; Bauchi, N49,144,349,945.81; Bayelsa, N116,401,465,403.37; Benue, N47,213,359,604.04; and Borno, N60,083,280,097.80.

    Ebonyi collected N43,963,560,710.14; Edo, N58,405,582,559.72; Ekiti, N39,522,983,724.48; Enugu, N49,887,509,995.29; Gombe, N39,923,718,418.03; Imo, N55,724,444,607.35; Jigawa, N56,365,310,756.22; Kaduna, N63,126,507,768.38; Kano, N81,265,346,346.94; Katsina, N61,394,120,973.64.

    Kebbi earned N51,180,577,366.74; Kogi, N49,981,491,072.92; Kwara, N42,095,648,742.86; Lagos, N115,932,620,456.70; Nasarawa, N43,104,566,838.28; Niger, N54,567,994,993.75; Ogun, N37,679,432,983.66; Ondo, N46,651,761,688.76; Oyo, N53,664,588,449.85; Plateau, N35,644,412,130.66.

    Other beneficiaries were Rivers, N141,187,041,344.69; Sokoto, N54,118,448,840.43; Taraba, N43,826,280,935.45; Yobe, N49,439,411,823.37; Zamfara, N41,446,503,230.12; Federal Capital Territory-Abuja, N67,064,632,994.32.

    The GBETIOKUN DERIVATION was N1,034,003,979.10 while SUKO DERIVATION was N994,940,731.05.

    Meanwhile, the oil-producing states in the country got N434 billion as 13 per cent oil derivation from FAAC last year.
