    Akwa Starlets Whitewash Adamawa Stars 4-1 As Akwa United Beat Abia Warriors 2-0

    The two football teams representing Akwa Ibom State in the 2019/2020 Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, are taking the matches to their opponents’ dens by hitting them below the belt.

    Akwa Starlets also known as Dakadda FC whitewashed Adamawa United by 4-1 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday, January 7.

    Similarly, the rejuvenated Akwa United had thrashed Abia Warriors 2-0 on Saturday to move up to top position on the NPFL table.

    Of the 12 matches played Dakkada FC occupy the fourth position with 20 points while Akwa United from the same match occupy the fifth position with 19 points on the NPFL table.

    Results of other matches played on Sunday, January 6 showed that Wikki Tourist and Katsina Utd after playing 1-1, but Heartland trounced Enugu Rangers 2-1.

    Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves shared a point each after drawing 1-1, but Abia Warriors suffered a 2-0 goal defeat to Kwara United.
    Lobi Stars drubbed Sunshine Stars  2-0 while Nasarawa United FC defeated FC Ifeanyi Ubah 3 – 2.
    Plateau United, the league leaders, with 24 points walloped Enyimba 4-0  while MFM FC fell 2-0 goals away to Rivers United.
