Akwa United Football Club knocked out Dakkada FC 2-1to win the 2022 Akwa Ibom State FA Cup for the 13th time.

David Onovo and substitute Franklin Matib scored goals in the first half to give Akwa United a comfortable 2-0 lead at the thrilling match played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Edidiong Ezekiel scored a consolation goal just before halftime to close the gap, but the Promise Keepers held on to pick the cup.

Akwa United won the State FA Cup for the third time in a row, and they were given the trophy for life in recognition of their accomplishment.
