Some prominent Nigerians have felicitated ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo on his 82nd birthday anniversary.
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who is clocking 82 years on Tuesday.
Atiku attached a picture of his meeting with Obasanjo in Abeokuta as he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “A very happy 82nd birthday to you, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. No living Nigerian has given as much to Nigeria in peacetime and in war as you have.
“May almighty God grant you many more years in good health and continued service to Nigeria and the world at large.”

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, also sent his congratulatory message to Obasanjo who turned 82 on Tuesday.
With a picture of him sharing a joke with Obasanjo, Saraki wrote on his Twitter: “Happy 82nd Birthday to His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. As you celebrate another year, Baba, I pray to Almighty God to continue to give you good health, great wisdom and grace to serve humanity.”
Obasanjo was born on March 5, 1937 to his father Amos Adigun Obaluayesanjo “Obasanjo” Bankole and his mother, Ashabi in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. His mother died in 1958 and his father died in 1959. He became an orphan at the age of 22.
A holder of GCFR, Ph.D. and a former Nigerian Army general, he was President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. Obasanjo was a career soldier before he served as Nigeria’s head of state from 1976 to 1979.
