ARMED robbers, again Monday, ambushed officials of a leading African bank and seven police escorts, along the Benin-Asaba Expressway, in broad daylight, in Delta State, carting N25 million in their bullion van into their cars. One of the police officers, supposed to be on duty in another bank at the time of the incident, was gravely injured and rushed to the hospital in what police authorities in the state suspect to be an insider’s arrangement. 07Three persons were, on Monday, killed by suspected cultists in Ipoo Community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.  The victims, Ogechi Amesi and his brother, Chinumezi Amesi, natives of Ibaa community in Emohua LGA, and one other person, yet to be identified, were killed in their barbers shop by the gunmen in Ipoo community while they were working.  One of the victim’s brothers, Iheanyi Njoku, said the suspected cultists stormed the barber’s shop owned by the two brothers and opened fire, killing three and leaving one other with bullet wounds. The relief package worth millions of dollars is aimed at alleviating the suffering and starvation currently experienced by thousands of drought-stricken people of that country.
