The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Mr. Martin Amaewhule, as the legitimate and properly constituted legislative body for the state. Wife to Godswill Akpabio, Nigeria’s Senate President, Unoma, has threatened legal action against the Kogi central senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for alleging sexual harassment against her husband. A middle-aged man, one Akaninyene Johnson Nkonduok from Utu Ikot Imonte village, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of the state is facing noose for committing murder, an Akwa Ibom High Court in Abak ordered. Two secondary school teachers in Ekiti State are to hang their clothes in a prison for 44 years for defiling two teenage students. An Ekiti State High Court in Ado-Ekiti confirmed the imprisonment of the two accused on Tuesday. The defendants, Ajibola Gbenga (43) and Olaofe Ayodele (52), were arraigned before Justice Adeniyi Familoni in March 2022 on a three-count charge bordering on r3pe and abuse of office. In a bid to enhance empowerment of the womenfolk, Abak Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State plans to establish palm oil mills in the 12 electoral wards in the area. Speaking in an interview with some journalists, the Chairman of Abak, Mrs Ime Effiong Charles said this would help the people mainly the women who deal in oil palm business from the area traditionally known as the palm oil belt region.
