A middle-aged man,  one Akaninyene Johnson Nkonduok from Utu Ikot Imonte village, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of the state is facing noose for committing murder, an Akwa Ibom High Court in Abak ordered. The accused was convicted for committing murder in 2021 in his village would die by hanging. Two secondary school teachers in Ekiti State are to hang their clothes in a prison for 44 years for defiling two teenage students.  An Ekiti State High Court in Ado-Ekiti confirmed the imprisonment of the two accused on Tuesday. The defendants, Ajibola Gbenga (43) and Olaofe Ayodele (52), were arraigned before Justice Adeniyi Familoni in March 2022 on a three-count charge bordering on r3pe and abuse of office. In a bid to enhance empowerment of the womenfolk, Abak Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State plans to establish palm oil mills in the 12 electoral wards in the area.
