The Nigeria Customs Service, Friday, said it generated N1.2 trillion as revenue for the 2018 fiscal period. In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, the service said the N1.2 trillion was an increase of N164.89 billion over the 2017 collection of N1.03 trillion. The Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.), attributed the revenue collected to the various reforms implemented by the service. A total of 242,455 persons applied for the position of constables in the on-going Nigeria Police Force (NPF) recruitment exercise. Of the figure, 212,716 of the applicants are males while 29,694 are females. Already, President Muhammadu Buhari approved 10,000 positions for constable, though the force has collected 232,455 in excess. The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that Senator Dino Melaye has surrendered to it after a seven-day siege on his Abuja residence by the personnel of the force. Personnel of the force had laid a siege to the Abuja residence of Melaye to effect his arrest over a case of culpable homicide. Melaye and his gang were accused of shooting a police officer, Sgt.
