The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has threatened to sanction telecommunications operators in Nigeria which engage in what it described as forceful subscription and unlawful deductions from consumers. The commission said Friday that “As a consumer-centric regulator, the NCC has noted with great displeasure the unacceptably high level of consumer complaints in respect of forceful subscriptions to Value-Added Services (VAS), as well as airtime deductions for these subscriptions. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said it would embark on a nationwide mobilisation of Nigerian workers to protest federal government’s delay in transmitting, enacting and implementing a new national minimum wage of N30,000.
