Egypt’s Al Masry thrashed Nigeria’s Enyimba FC 2-0 in their CAF Confederation Cup Group D encounter in Ismaila Wednesday night. Mahmoud Hamada opened the scoring for the home team after five minutes. Yahaya was elected at the 8th Triennial Delegates’ Conference of the union held from November 26 to 28 at Owerri, Imo State. The Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Tuesday discharged and acquitted a 35-year-old upholstery maker, Taiwo Opasina. Opasina was charged with alleged s3xual assault of his four-year-old daughter, (name withheld). Justice Rahman Oshodi in his judgment held that the prosecution failed to discharge the burden of proof against Opasina. Oshodi said the prosecution failed to present the vital witness, (alleged survivor) before the court to give evidence. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) says it is ready to shut down all polytechnics nationwide by December 2 due to the Federal Government’s failure to meet its demands. The Chairman of the ASUP, Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, Comrade Abubakar J. Abdullah, who announced this on Wednesday, explained that the union leadership had issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Federal Government on October 6, 2024. Traffic snarl along rickety Calabar-Uyo Federal Highway has forced a young woman into premature labour and delivery of a baby boy. The Nigerian Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazil’s Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) to promote private sector development in fertilizer production, hybrid seed technology, and agricultural finance in 774 local government areas.
