Force headquarters, Wednesday, denied plan to arrest and kill Senator Dino Melaye, warning him against hate speech. Melaye in his Twitter handle had alleged that Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of Police, has given orders for his arrest and injection to death. The price oil crude oil Wednesday dropped to $50.00, showing $10 below Nigeria’s $60 per barrel 2019 budget benchmark in the volatile global market. The price of Brent, West Texas Intermediate, WTI and the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, basket of 15 crudes stood at $50.00, $45.00 and $53.92 per barrel respectively. Traders attributed the development to over-supply; coming from some non-OPEC oil producers that are not involved in the supply cut deal. Police, Wednesday, admitted that they have arrested some suspects connected with the killing of Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, former Chief of Defence Staff, who was killed at Jitata, along Keffi-Abuja road while he was returning from his farm. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it spent N623.16 billion on under-recovery otherwise known as subsidy from January to November 2018. This was contained in a report by NNPC to Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) at the last meeting in Abuja where revenue generating agencies gave an account of their performances in the year. In the report dated December 19, 2018, NNPC revealed that it has arrears of N67.23 billion for deductions made from FAAC.
