Different jingles and advertorials used by campaign managers in different social and mass media across the country allude to the prevalence of peace in Akwa Ibom State as a cardinal achievement of the state government. Yet, the state government’s five-point agenda- job creation, poverty Alleviation, wealth creation, economic and political inclusion and infrastructural consolidation and expansion- receive less emphasis. Eseme Eyiboh,…
“Since I got the message that our future is in the valley, I kept to myself. I should not go beyond God; I should go before Him. “The Lord said to me that I should tell the nation and the leaders to pray against the interruption of democratic practice. You have to join me in prayer. The Lord gave me what to pray about because in this case, there must be prayers given to you,’ Prophet T. B. Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, has revealed. This prophecy came less than two months to the presidential…

Asked if the solution to Nigeria’s problems is the restructuring of the nation, Kukah said: “Anybody pretending that restructuring is the solution to our problems… it isn’t, because there are no solutions. They are coping mechanisms that you can design. “People focus on power, but the irony now, if we don’t know, is that somebody has written a fine book,…

By Gbenga Oshinowo It has become increasingly obvious that Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State is obsessed with pride and loquaciousness that would lead him to self destruction. The banker turned “politician” who has remained a study in arrogance is a proof to the fate pride holds for its victims and a confirmation of the truism that pride goes before a fall. Recently, Governor Emmanuel seems to have flown off the handle. He appears to be led by some rage that depicts desperation, immaturity and lack of tact. The ease of his predisposition to outburst and infantile comments suggest…
