The Kaduna State Government has sacked 4,562 newly-recruited teachers described as incompetent a few weeks after they were issued with employment letters to replace those sacked for failing a competency test. Briefing the press on Wednesday, Alhaji Ja’afaru Sani, the state Commissioner for Education, said the teachers were dismissed because they found their ways into the service of state government through dubious means. Alabama Court in the United States has sentenced 83-year-old Walter Moody, an American to death earlier convicted of 71 charges in 1991 for killing the federal appeals judge, Robert Vance and civil rights lawyer, Robert Robinson in 1989. Oil prices rose Thursday to their highest since late 2014 as US crude inventories declined after sources told the Media top exporter Saudi Arabia is seeking to push oil prices higher. Brent crude oil futures rallied as high as 74.44 dollars a barrel, the strongest since November 27, 2014, the day that OPEC decided to pump as much as it could to defend market share.
