The Kaduna State Government has sacked 4,562 newly-recruited teachers described as incompetent a few weeks after they were issued with employment letters to replace those sacked for failing a competency test. Briefing the press on Wednesday, Alhaji Ja’afaru Sani, the state Commissioner for Education, said the teachers were dismissed because they found their ways into the service of state government through dubious means. Oil prices rose Thursday to their highest since late 2014 as US crude inventories declined after sources told the Media top exporter Saudi Arabia is seeking to push oil prices higher.
