The Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, raked in N2.5 trillion (N2,529,615,174,601.25) from various taxes from January to June 2018. The amount shows that the service has realised 75 per cent of its total target for the year, which is an improvement over what was realised at the corresponding period in 2017. Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, said Thursday that the death toll in last Tuesday’s attacks on villages in Rabe local government area of the state has risen to 39. According to the governor, more bodies were recovered after 32 were buried.
