This is because NNPC is currently paying N60 as under recovery for a litre of the commodity. The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) said weekend it has approved $17 billion financing for Nigerian entities between its commencement of operations in 1994 and last December. Dr. Benedict Oramah, President of the bank, stated this when he led an Afreximbank delegation on a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. The Police Command in Akwa Ibom has declared 59 persons alleged to be ring leaders and sponsors of insecurity within Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas of the state. The list which includes 57 males and two females also shows that 23 of the wanted persons are indigenes of Ukanafun, 23 from Etim Ekpo, 12 from EssienUdim and one from OrukAnam local council. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has seized no fewer than 35 containers of tramadol at various ports in the country.
