A 34-year-old single mother has been arrested by Anti-narcotic agents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while she was on the point of smuggling illicit substances out of the country. Harriet Bolatito Solabi, who holds a Higher National Diploma from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun state, had successfully checked in two bags, said to have contained personal effects on Ethiopian Airline flight No.910 to Addis Ababa. A murder suspect, allegedly involved in the killing of Chief Eyo Eyo Bassey, has reportedly escaped from police custody in Bakassi Police Divisional headquarters. Ikot Ebon village in Itu local government area in Akwa Ibom State has rejected the establishment of a proposed nuclear plant in their community. Mr. Okon Akpan, the village Council secretary in the coummunity, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Itu on Monday, said the community was not aware of the proposed project by the Federal Government. Tragedy struck at Gariki, Ugwuoba in Oji River local government area of Enugu State Saturday when the soil two persons were excavating collapsed and killed them at the site. A birthday party in Ondo town turned bloody weekend as an alleged lover of the celebrator was reportedly stabbed by another lover over argument on who was to dance first with her.
