A birthday party in Ondo town turned bloody weekend as an alleged lover of the celebrator was reportedly stabbed by another lover over argument on who was to dance first with her.

The victim and financier of the party identified as Solomon Endurance was said to have sustained serious injuries at the birthday bash.

Two suspects including the celebrator, Vanguard gathered, have been apprehended by the police.

Eyewitness account said the celebrator, Bunmi Akinlotan, was invited to the dancing floor by the musician at the ceremony which was held at a popular hotel located at Erinketa Street in the town.

Bunmi was said to have beckoned to the victim to join her on the dancing floor apparently to justify his investment in the birthday bash.

The suspect, identified as Olaniyi Ososanmi, was said to have jumped up from his seat and challenged the celebrator for leaving him out of the show.

An argument ensued and the two lover boys exchanged hot words.

The suspect, who reportedly went to the party with his friends, stormed out angrily and vowed to return to teach the victim some lessons.

He reportedly returned later with some dangerous weapons and allegedly stabbed the victim with broken bottle.

The party was disrupted as the guests scampered for safety.

Police detectives from the Enuowa divisional police station rushed to the scene following distress call from notable politicians in the town.

Two persons were reportedly arrested including the celebrator.

Contacted, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Enuowa police station, Isinkaye Simon, confirmed arrest of two persons.

Simon confirmed that the victim, who sustained injury in his nose and other parts of his body, was rushed to the Ondo Trauma Centre.

He pointed out that the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed on the matter.
