The lingering dispute between the Federal Government and some states in the country over the Naira redesign policy will be rested by the Supreme Court on March 3. A seven-man panel of the apex court presided by Justice John Okoro announced the date for judgment shortly after taking all arguments for and against the policy on February 22. The Interim Management Committee, IMC, of Nigeria Professional Football League has suspended Shooting Stars’ camp commandant, Auwal Mohammed, for urinating in the pitch. Mohammed was pictured urinating in the centre circle before Shooting Stars’ matchday nine clash against Akwa United in Ibadan on Sunday. The official was suspended from all NPFL-related activities for one year, effective immediately. Similarly, the club is also fined N500,000 for failing to control Mohammed’s conduct. Eight students of Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, travelling home for the forthcoming general elections, have reportedly died in auto crash. The students, who were asked to leave school on account of the forthcoming general election, were on their way to Taraba state when the unfortunate incident occurred. According to an eyewitness, the tragic incident happened on Saturday, 18th February at TTC/Special Science School junction, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. Facebook users shed tears as a family of four that came from church was wiped out when a 40ft-container conveyed by a truck fell on a commercial bus at Ojuelegba in Lagos State. The deceased  who were Emeka Okoli, his wife and their two children were among the nine passengers killed when the container-laden truck fell on their bus on January 29, 2023. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has sued President Muhammadu Buhari over “the unlawful directive banning the use of old N500 and N1,000 banknotes, contrary to the interim injunction granted by the Supreme Court that the old N200, N500, and N1000 notes remain legal tender.” Defendants in the suit are the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
