The five-month-old Governor Umo Eno administration of Akwa Ibom State is said to have obtained N1.2 billion loans described as ‘illegal’ in its existence. This is as the immediate past administration under ex-Governor Udom Emmanuel purportedly left more than N233 billion debt profile for his successor. The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri with his right eye ‘completely shut,’ after he was attacked in Imo state today November 1. Abia State Ministry of Education has shut Emerald Schools at Crystal Park Avenue, off Port Harcourt Road in Aba South LGA, and withdrew their operational licence. The ministry, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Professor Uche-Eme-Uche in Umuahia, on Tuesday, said that the sealing of the educational facility was a result of the ministry’s findings.
