The 24 countries to trade tackles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire have sealed qualification for the tournament. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that five-time AFCON champions Cameroon on Tuesday spanked Burundi 3-O to complete the star studded list of qualified teams. Construction of the dilapidated Ukpom Abak/Ediene Ikot Obio Imo Road cutting across many villages in Uyo and Abak Local Government Areas is underway. Forty two companies/entities have been issued award letters after successful bidding for 49 Flare Sites during the 2022 Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme (NGFCP) Auction process. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) that announced the outcome of the bidding exercise said 38 of the companies/entities have been awarded 40 Flare Sites for standalone single flare site development, while four are awarded nine sites to be developed as clusters. As a step towards achieving agricultural revolution by the present Akwa Ibom government, 31 youths of the State are to undergo training in the Songhai agricultural technology at Cotonou, Benin Republic. Delta, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States took the lion’s share of the N1.51 trillion statutory Federation Account Revenue Allocations (FARA) to the 36 states in the first six months of 2023, the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) revealed on Sunday. It meant that the 36 states of the federation collected 34.5 per cent of the total N4.37 trillion shared by the three tiers of the government between January and June, 2023, the organisation stated.
