Two prominent Nigerians have dismissed Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s claim that Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi ordered his arrest in 2013. In their reactions, Dr. Reuben Abati, public analyst with Arise TV and a tweep, Adetutu Balogun, faulted El-rufai’s allegation as politics taken too far. A Nigerian journalist, Oseni Rufai, has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency due to the recent flooding that has killed many and ravaged most states in Nigeria. Calm returned to Indian campus where Nigerian students were attacked last Friday, October 14, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said. Sixty Nigerian students fled their campus at GD Goenka University in Gurugam after they were allegedly thrashed and abused by Indian counterparts on the football field and in their hostel. The inability of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government in signing an agreement may hamper resumption of full academic activities in Nigerian public universities, Straightnews has learned.
