The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has extended voters’ registration exercise for another two weeks to end July 31.  In addition, the commission has extended to eight hours daily from 9.00a.m to 5 p.m instead of the current duration of six hours (9 a.m to 3 p.m.) daily. A former Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Albert, on Friday, removed the PDP’s flags in his campaign office, and hoisted Young Peoples Party’s flags. A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday dismissed a suit filed by some aggrieved members of Akwa Ibom Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the party over the alleged conduct of the state’s primary elections. Delivering judgment, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, held that the suit lacked merit. A father is grieving after mudslide caused by heavy rainfall had buried alive his four children in Okangbang community off Nasarawa in 8 miles, Calabar Municipality, Cross River State. The deceased, who were of the same parents, were swept away along collapsed house by ferocious flood into a nearby ravine while they were eating.
