Following the fuel subsidy removal, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has pegged the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as fuel or petrol, at N488 and N555 per litre at the peak. This is coming hours after President Bola Tinubu announced an end to the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria in his inaugural speech on Monday. In Uyo, the PMS will cost N511 against N600 and N700 a litre charged by dealers and black marketers in Akwa Ibom caused by Tinubu’s surprise announcement of fuel subsdiy. A bus carrying Hindu pilgrims to a shrine in Indian-controlled Kashmir skidded off a highway bridge into a Himalayan gorge Tuesday, killing at least 10 people and injuring 55, police said. The bus was on the way to Katra town from the northern state of Punjab’s Amritsar city when it fell into the gorge near Jammu city, police said.
