The U.S. government has approved the sale of attack aircraft and other military equipment worth $997 million to Nigeria for use in fighting terrorists in the country. The Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base (FOB), Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area in Akwa  Ibom impounded 230 bags of smuggled rice concealed in market women boat. The Commanding Officer, FOB, Navy Capt. Muhammed Kabiru, told newsmen in Ibaka on Wednesday while handing over the bags of smuggled rice to the Nigeria Custom Service (NCS). Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy has granted clemency and pardon to 159 Nigerians convicted for various offences. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami stated this on Thursday after the Council of State meeting presided over by the President Muhammadu Buhari.
