A suspected organs’ harvester is custodied in Anambra State Police Command awaiting trial before the Children and Gender Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka. The suspect, Onyebuchi Ezeh who is currently at the State Criminal Investigative Department is accused of cutting sexual organs and other parts of a 72-year-old woman for ritual purposes. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reveal plans his administration is taking to obey the recent Supreme Court order on the Naira redesign. On Friday, March 3, the Supreme Court extended the validity of the old N200, N500, and N1,000 notes till 31 December, stating that the Central Bank of Nigeria must continue to receive the notes from Nigerians. A 28-year-old man from Akwa Ibom State has been awarded N2 million compensation for being allowed to languish in prison for eight years over non-committal of crime. Idaraobong Sunday Dickson, a native of Ikot Ada Utor in Midim, Abak Local Government Area, was found guiltless over allegation of robbery and rape. Twelve persons died following an an early morning explosion at a crude oil tapping point in Rumuekpe community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, police confirmed. The unfortunate incident occurred at about 2 a.m. on Friday when one of the buses loaded with crude went up in flames while trying to navigate to an illegal refining point in the area. Nigerian Supreme Court on Friday ordered the use of old and new Naira notes till December 31, 2023. The Supreme Court faulted the naira redesign policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), declaring the naira notes swap implementation invalid and an affront to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
