Aniefiok Christopher Akwa Ibom Police Command has rescued abducted fishermen from sea pirates and recovered stolen outboard engines along the waterways of Ibeno Local Government Area in the state. Akakan Umoh Four men are facing death on multiple counts for their involvement in the kidnapping of a woman at the Vegetable Market along Airport Road in Benin City, Edo State. Aniefiok Christopher Akwa Ibom State has plummeted to the 36th position in the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination with only 37.42 per cent of candidates obtaining at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics among Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory. The 2026 NECO state-by-state data obtained by our correspondent show that 7,754 of the 20,720 Akwa Ibom candidates who sat the examination met the benchmark. Akakan Umoh A 40-year-old man was arrested over alleged production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages while five cartons of suspected fake dry gin were recovered in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
