Akwa Ibom High Court in Uyo on Thursday, January 6, ordered a former councillor and his wife in the state, to pay a woman N4 million for assaulting and forcing her to dance n#ked in the public. Forty people were killed by elephants in remote parts of Zimbabwe from January to October last year alone, according to Zimparks spokesman. Specifically, a woman and her three-month-old baby in southeastern Zimbabwe were Tuesday trampled to death by an elephant, the national parks authority said. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission secured 2,220 convictions across all its Commands in 2021 through the dedication and industry of its staffers. This is the highest conviction secured by the anti-graft agency since inception, a 127.5 per cent improvement from the 1,280 convictions recorded by the Agency in 2019.
