Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja voided the February 2024 primary election that produced Ighodalo on the ground that 378 delegates who were supposed to vote at the primary election were unlawfully excluded by PDP. An Anglican Reverend was murdered by his son in the agrarian community of Okpare in Olomu Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, on Wednesday. The priest, identified as Rev. Isaac Umurie, one of the reverends attached to St. John’s Anglican Church, Okpare-Olomu, was hacked to death in his sleep in the early hours of the day by his 28-year-old son, Ufuoma Umurie. The House of Representatives has ordered probes into the mismanaged N1.12 trillion Anchor Borrowers Scheme. It is an initiative of the Federal Government’s interventions and agricultural funding through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has called on Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to account for, and explain the whereabouts of the over N100 billion ‘dirty and bad notes’ and ‘other large sum of cash awaiting examination’ which are kept in various branches of the apex bank. Two suspected kidnappers died during a fierce gun battle between the policemen and the hoodlums in Akwa Ibom State. Already, operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have neutralised two suspected kidnappers who tried to escape with their kidnapped victim to their den.
