    A suspected illicit drugs suspect is currently detained in the police cell in Uyo, Akwa Ibom for his involvement in the business.

    A statement in Uyo on Sunday, DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer , Akwa Ibom State Police Command, said ‘‘In the early hours of Sunday, September 21, 2025, operatives from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command successfully raided a criminal hideout in Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo.

    ‘‘Acting on an intelligence, operatives moved to the location at approximately 1:00 a.m., leading to the arrest of one individual.

    ‘‘The suspect, identified as Kabiru Isa, a resident of Udi Street, Uyo, was apprehended at the scene while other suspects managed to evade capture. A search of the premises yielded a significant quantity of illegal substances.’’

    According to hr, ‘‘Among the recovered exhibits were: Five sizeable bundles of substances suspected to be cannabis and substances suspected to be Tramadol capsules.

    ‘‘Mr. Isa is currently in police custody and is undergoing investigation. The recovered exhibits have been forwarded to the appropriate authorities for further action.

    ‘‘The Akwa Ibom State Police Command remains committed to its mission of combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents. The public is encouraged to continue providing valuable information to aid in these efforts.’’
