Two men have been sentenced to death for killing their uncle, one Mr. Imo Effiong Edet over landed property in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The victims are a 32-year-old Joseph Usen Etim from Akpautong and a 31-year-old Christopher Sunday Macaulay, a native of Obio Aduang both in Ibesikpo Asutan, were condemned by an Uyo High Court. Italian customs police, Monday, bust a Nigerian organised crime syndicate that forced young women into prostitution and begging on the streets of Italy. The syndicate was said to have then smuggled out millions of euros in ill-gained revenues to Nigeria, with cash hidden in suitcase handles or pasta packages. The police said raids in cities in northern and southern Italy as well as on the island of Sardinia yielded 40 arrests.
