The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has ordered the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to hold its planned National Convention. This was following the dismissal of the application by the sacked National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, seeking the suspension of the party’s Convention scheduled for October 30 and 31. Five students from Kano State lost their lives and several others were injured at Lambun Garba, near Bichi while they were heading to Katsina State. The nine crude oil producing Nigerian states collected N54.206 billion as derivation (13 per cent of Mineral Revenue) for September 2021. The states are Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Ondo, Edo, Imo and and Abia with Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers and Baylesa accounting for 80 per cent crude oil produced in the country.
