Fear of epidemic has gripped Usung Atiat, an agrarian community in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State following the desecration and public disposal of the remains of one of their kinsmen. The National Executive Committee of Peoples Democratic Party has approved the recommendation of its committee to zone national chairmanship to the North. The NEC took the decision at its meeting held at PDP Headquarters in Abuja Thursday, October 7. Tanzanian-born novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah has won the 2021 Nobel prize in Literature after Wole Soyinka, a Nigerian won the prize in 1986. Google plans to invest $1 billion in Africa in five years for fast and cheaper internet and will back startups for the continent’s digital transformation. Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has stopped Nigerians below 18 from registering and owning a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM). In a draft copy of the modified Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations published on the commission’s website, the NCC said the regulations were made in line with the powers conferred upon the commission by section 70 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003.
