Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has stopped Nigerians below 18 from registering and owning a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM). In a draft copy of the modified Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations published on the commission’s website, the NCC said the regulations were made in line with the powers conferred upon the commission by section 70 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003. Work at the proposed site of Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State is to commence soon, Federal Ministry of Education has assured. After 10 years, the controversial 25 kilometres Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Federal Highway in Akwa Ibom State has been completed and inaugurated.
