Ten Nigerian athletes have been ruled ineligible by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) from participation in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The athletes were ruled ineligible due to failure to meet the minimum testing requirements under Rule 15 of the Anti-Doping Rules for ‘Category A’ federations. ‘Category A’ federations are those that are deemed to have the highest doping risk and considered as a threat to the overall integrity of the sport. Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas aka Ray Hushpuppi, has pleaded guilty after being arrested for engaging in cybercrime and money laundering charge. Hushpuppi was accused of engaging in money laundering, of funds from business email compromise scams and other online heists. After pleading guilty, he has now struck a plea bargain deal with the United States Attorney’s office for the Central District of California. The Supreme Court, Wednesday, upheld the re-election of Rotimi Akeredolu as Governor of Ondo State. Akeredolu’s victory was affirmed after four of the seven justices of the Supreme Court that heard the case upheld his candidacy in the October 10, 2020 election in the state. A 23-year-old bricklayer has been accused of allegedly raping the corpse of his 46-year-old lover. This was after Adebayo Kingsley, from Ibillo in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, is said to have killed Rosemary Ifeoma, a widow and mother-of-four, by hitting her with a plank.
